Update from our Far North Queensland Team

You are here: Home / Uncategorized / Update from our Far North Queensland Team
July 5, 2022 by striveor

As many of you will be aware by now, Strive’s North Queensland Team Leader and Senior Consultant Trisha Reaston will soon be commencing her maternity leave from 1 August 2022. Trisha has been with Strive since mid-2014 and is a long-term favourite of our customers within the North Queensland and Far North Queensland region.

Whilst we are very excited for Trisha and her family as she prepares to embark on a new chapter in her life, it will create some big shoes to fill at Strive. But with Trisha’s maternity leave also comes a terrific opportunity for others.

Strive’s North Queensland Team Leader, Trisha Reaston (left) and soon to be Acting North Queensland Team Leader and Senior Consultant, Laura Huygens (right) out the front of our rooms in Cairns at The Boland’s Centre.

Earlier in the year we undertook an EOI process to backfill Trisha’s role during her upcoming leave. We are very excited to announce that Senior Consultant, Laura Huygen’s has been successful in winning the EOI and will be Acting Team Leader for our North Queensland Team. Laura will formally commence in the role from 1 August 2022.

“I am really grateful for this opportunity to continue to grow and enhance my consulting, leadership and business development skills. I joined Strive’s North Queensland Team in early 2021 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time. I look forward to continuing to uphold Strive’s values of integrity, excellence in customer service and service delivery, and working more closely with Strive’s senior leadership team” Laura said.

Laura has been honing her craft and building her own brand at Strive over the last 18 months and is highly experienced working with our State Government, Local government, DVA and WorkerCover Queensland customers. Laura’s skillset and approach lends itself to managing and supporting workers with complex physical injuries and mental health conditions. Laura has also been providing onsite employee support services to organisations as part of our Employee Support and Resilience Program, and recently completed a large project for manual handling training for one of our customers in the region.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Strive acknowledges all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia. We recognise their unique connections to land, sea and community, and in particular we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and play. We wish to pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and recognise that there is no greater example of strength and resilience than Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture as the oldest continuing culture in the world.

Strive remains committed to fostering a workplace that values and celebrates the unique perspectives, background and talents of every individual. We strive to create an inclusive environment, eliminating all forms of discrimination where all employees, clients, and partners feel heard, respected, and empowered. We welcome all people regardless of age, gender, identity, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, faith and all other identities represented in our community. We believe that embracing diversity not only enriches our workplace but also fuels innovation, creativity, and success.
