Celebrating Akash Rooney’s Next Chapter – Toowoomba Team Leader

October 14, 2026 by striveor

Great organisations grow when good people are given opportunities to step forward.

Following Kylie Roberts’ appointment to Area Manager – Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast, I’m delighted to announce the promotion of Akash Rooney to Toowoomba Team Leader.

For those who know Akash, this feels like a very natural next step.

Since joining Strive in 2023, Akash has become a trusted member of our Toowoomba team, working closely alongside Kylie and playing a key role as her second-in-charge. Throughout that time, he has consistently demonstrated the qualities that matter most at Strive: humility, warmth, empathy, genuine care for others, and a willingness to go above and beyond for both his colleagues and customers.

As an Occupational Therapist and Senior Rehabilitation Consultant, Akash brings strong clinical expertise across workplace rehabilitation, mental health, injury management, psychosocial wellbeing and return-to-work support. He is known for building meaningful relationships, navigating complex situations with care, and delivering positive outcomes for the people and organisations we support. Akash was also recognised as an ARPA 2026 Finalist for Outstanding Achievement in a Return to Work Psychological Claim.

What has impressed me most, however, is the way Akash approaches his work. He leads through action, puts people first, and quietly invests in the success of those around him. Whether supporting a worker through a challenging situation, helping a colleague, or strengthening relationships with customers, he consistently represents the values that Strive was built upon.

As our Toowoomba Team Leader, Akash will continue supporting the growth and development of our local team while helping maintain the strong relationships and service standards that have been established across the Darling Downs region.

We’re incredibly excited to see Akash continue to grow as a leader and to support him as he embarks on this next chapter of his career.

Please join me in congratulating Akash on this well-deserved promotion.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Strive acknowledges all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia. We recognise their unique connections to land, sea and community, and in particular we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and play. We wish to pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and recognise that there is no greater example of strength and resilience than Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture as the oldest continuing culture in the world.

Strive remains committed to fostering a workplace that values and celebrates the unique perspectives, background and talents of every individual. We strive to create an inclusive environment, eliminating all forms of discrimination where all employees, clients, and partners feel heard, respected, and empowered. We welcome all people regardless of age, gender, identity, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, faith and all other identities represented in our community. We believe that embracing diversity not only enriches our workplace but also fuels innovation, creativity, and success.
