Here at Strive, we get to motivate many different people to get moving in meaningful, safe and purposeful ways through our different services. Our wonderful team of Exercise Physiologists inspire safe movement in the clinic and the gym, and can also help people move safely in their homes and workplaces.
What role does an Exercise Physiologist play in Occupational Rehabilitation?
Injury Prevention Services: Exercise physiologists can assist with Manual Handling education and guidance, ergonomic assessments, pre-employment functional assessments, job task analyses, risk assessments, and functional capacity evaluations.
Performance Optimisation: Exercise Physiologists support fatigue and wellbeing management through practical guidance on sleep, nutrition, physical activity, rest, and stress regulation. They take an all-systems approach—addressing the nervous, musculoskeletal, and psychological systems—to enhance performance, build resilience, and reduce the risk of burnout. Using a biopsychosocial framework, EPs ensure that performance and wellbeing are supported in a balanced, holistic way that reflects the complex demands of real life and work.
Treatment Services: Our Exercise Physiologists offer treatment services including pain management strategies, rehabilitation for physical and psychological injuries, chronic disease management, and , Functional Restoration Programs. We also specialise in workplace solutions, offering ergonomic assessments and equipment adjustments to support recovery and enhance overall well-being.
Rehabilitation and Return to Work Services: EPs support the gradual rebuilding and reconditioning of a worker’s capacity following an injury, illness, or extended time off work. By applying reconditioning principles (such as Strive’s model) to the occupational setting, EPs work in collaboration with rehabilitation and medical management teams, addressing the complex and interconnected systems of the body (nervous, musculoskeletal, psychological, and others) to optimize recovery and ensure a safe and effective return to work.

WHO MOVES YOU?
Every May, Exercise Right kicks off a national campaign celebrating the power of movement. This initiative encourages people to tap into the expertise of exercise professionals and make daily exercise a part of their routine. This May, challenge yourself to commit to 30 minutes of purposeful movement each day. Whether it’s a relaxing walk with your dog, a workout with a friend, or a calming Pilates class after a busy day, make movement a part of your everyday life!
WHY TAKE PART?

Daily exercise is a game-changer for both your body and mind. It’s not just about always pushing hard; it’s about nurturing your heart, lungs, muscles, and mind. Research shows that regular movement enhances heart and lung function, strengthens muscles, and floods your brain with mood-boosting endorphins. Beyond the immediate benefits, exercise also lowers the risk of chronic illnesses, improves sleep, and helps you think sharper. Plus, it’s a proven stress-buster, energy booster, and longevity promoter. So, let’s embrace movement in all its forms, and feel amazing every step of the way!
