In today’s blog post, we would like to introduce you to Lisa Holder-Greaves. Lisa is a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant/Rehabilitation Consultant, based at our Sunshine Coast office.

Lisa has always been an advocate at heart. From fighting for fair opportunities to creating safe spaces for people to be heard, her path into rehabilitation counselling was driven by a simple belief: people do better when they feel supported. After moving from the UK to Australia, she saw firsthand the power of early psychological intervention — and found the perfect fit at Strive, where values aren’t just talked about, they’re lived.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Lisa brings a calm, grounded approach to wellbeing, shaped by nature, connection, and a genuine commitment to helping people find their way forward. She works alongside clients with empathy and honesty — supporting them through recovery, return to work, and everything in between.
Let’s get to know Lisa a little more:
- What inspired you to become a Rehabilitation Counsellor, and what keeps you passionate about your work with Strive?
I have always been good at getting friends interviews with helping them with their resumes, and fought for my friend with HR, to get him an interview after he was paper sifted for being deaf. (We won, he is excelling in the role, as we knew he would). As workers comp isn’t really a thing in the UK, it only really became an option after moving here. With a case management background and from a job where helping people was intrinsic to my motivation, retraining over here became a no brainer.
After working in rehab for a while it became glaringly obvious to me that there was a huge need for early intervention in the psychological space, a safe space for people to vent their frustrations, to have a voice, gain support and explore resolution, before their concerns escalate into injury. Strive gave me the perfect opportunity to do this. I am also very value driven and getting the best outcome for clients is always my aim. Strive don’t just talk the talk they actually live these values which is great to experience and be a part of.
- What’s your favourite part of your role, and how does working on the Sunshine Coast influence your approach to rehabilitation and wellbeing?
Moving from London to the Sunny Coast has taught (forced) me to slow down, people are friendlier and happier as they make time for themselves. We enjoy the nature that is around us and appreciate the beautiful place that we live. Taking time out to sit by the beach, walk in the bush and feel the sun on your face is something I often recommend to people caught up in their heads.
- Can you share a moment in your career that really affirmed why you do what you do?
Being hugged by a notoriously belligerent client as he tearfully said ‘Thank you. I would not be standing here right now if wasn’t for you.’
- What are your top three tips for maintaining wellbeing — both for your clients and yourself?
Self-care – do the small things that make you smile, it doesn’t need to be a big gesture.
Don’t overfill your cup – You only have so much to give
Climb mountains and keep chickens. Your life will be better.
- What keeps you grounded outside of work? Any go-to rituals, hobbies, or places that help you recharge?
Being in nature, hiking, trekking, hanging out with my family and chilling with my chickens.
- If you could give one piece of advice to someone navigating recovery or return to work, what would it be?
Its ok to feel what you are feeling, these feelings are valid and we are here not to dictate your path but to support you.
