Staff Spotlight: Meet Tracey Crowther, Operations Manager!

You are here: Home / Uncategorized / Staff Spotlight: Meet Tracey Crowther, Operations Manager!
March 10, 2026 by striveor

At Strive Occupational Rehabilitation, a lot happens behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly — and Tracey Crowther is right at the centre of it. As Operations Manager and Business Support Team Leader, Tracey plays a key role in supporting Strive’s people and processes, helping teams stay connected, organised and focused on their work.

With years of experience at Strive, Tracey brings a practical, people‑first approach to operations, making sure systems support the real work being done every day. Her role helps create the space for consultants and leaders to do what they do best: support individuals and organisations to thrive at work.

In today’s blog post, we take a look behind the scenes at Tracey’s role at Strive, ISO accreditation, her values and what she does in her down time at work.

1. What does a typical day look like for you as Operations Manager at Strive, and what part of your role do you find most rewarding?

A typical day is very dynamic and usually involves wearing a few different hats. My role includes overseeing operational workflows, managing referral allocations, supporting Team Leaders and acting as the Team Leader for Business Support, as well as liaising directly with customers, preparing quotes and proposals, and supporting recruitment initiatives as the business grows. I’m also closely involved in budget management and forecasting, ensuring we balance financial sustainability with high‑quality service delivery.

What I find most rewarding is seeing all of these moving parts come together to support our people and our clients. Whether it’s supporting a new staff member through onboarding or knowing that strong operational planning has enabled better outcomes, it’s incredibly satisfying to see the impact behind the scenes translate into real‑world results.

2. Strive focuses on helping people return to work safely and sustainably — how do you ensure operational excellence supports that mission?

Operational excellence is about creating structure without losing flexibility. I focus on ensuring our processes, compliance frameworks and reporting requirements support clinicians to do their best work, rather than slow them down. By streamlining workflows, maintaining clear governance, and supporting early intervention approaches, we enable consultants to focus on sustainable, person‑centred outcomes — which ultimately supports safer and more durable return‑to‑work results.

3. What’s one innovation or process improvement you’ve implemented that made a significant impact on the team or clients?

One of the most significant improvements has been a collective effort across the team to strengthen our early‑intervention and triage processes, particularly around psychosocial risk, alongside a broader uplift in how we use technology to support safe and efficient service delivery. By clarifying referral pathways, improving handovers, and embedding clearer guidance for staff, we’ve reduced delays, increased confidence for newer consultants, and improved consistency for clients.

At the same time, the organisation has transitioned key platforms to Microsoft 365, working closely with our IT provider, @Online 3, to ensure cyber security is embedded in everything we do. In the allied health industry, protecting the safety and integrity of information is imperative. This work has strengthened governance while also improving usability and efficiency. It has enabled us to streamline onboarding through apps and standardised systems, supporting staff to access information easily while maintaining strong information security. Together, these improvements have had a meaningful and sustainable impact on both team experience and client outcomes.

4. How do you balance the demands of compliance, client outcomes, and team wellbeing in such a dynamic industry?

Balance comes from recognising that these elements are interconnected, not competing priorities. Strong compliance protects everyone, good outcomes build trust, and team wellbeing underpins sustainable performance. I try to lead with transparency, realistic expectations and open communication, ensuring teams feel supported rather than pressured. When staff feel safe, heard and well‑resourced, high‑quality outcomes naturally follow.

5. Could you tell us about the ISO Accreditation that you have completed recently?

Over the past two years, Strive has achieved five ISO accreditations — ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security), ISO 45001 (Work Health and Safety), ISO 45003 (Psychological Health and Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) — in addition to Right Fit for Risk accreditation. This is an achievement the organisation is incredibly proud of.

I had the opportunity to project‑lead these accreditations, working closely with leaders, consultants, business support and our external partners to embed these standards meaningfully across the organisation. Achieving these globally recognised accreditations involved a comprehensive review of our systems, governance, risk management and continuous improvement processes.

Importantly, these standards are not treated as a compliance exercise. They are embedded into how we operate day‑to‑day and demonstrate Strive’s commitment to quality, safety, information security, environmental responsibility and psychological wellbeing. Together, they reflect our values and our ongoing commitment to delivering consistent, accountable and best‑practice outcomes for our people, clients and partners.

6. What inspired you to pursue a career at Strive, and what continues to drive your passion today?

I was drawn to Strive because of its strong values, people‑first approach and commitment to doing meaningful work. What continues to drive me is the opportunity to make a real difference — not only in the lives of injured workers and clients, but also by supporting our teams to grow, learn and thrive in a challenging but rewarding industry.

7. Outside of work, what activities or hobbies help you recharge and stay grounded?

Outside of work, I really value getting to the beach, a scenic drive, staying active, and spending time with family and friends. I also love switching off with a funny movie and reminding myself not to take life too seriously. Those simple things help me reset, keep perspective, and come back to work feeling energised and balanced.

8. What values are most important to you as a leader, and how do you bring those into your day‑to‑day interactions with your team?

Integrity, empathy and accountability are core values for me as a leader. I aim to be approachable, honest and consistent in my interactions, and to create a space where people feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns and sharing ideas. I strongly believe that trust is built through everyday actions, not titles.

9. If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting out in the health and rehabilitation sector, what would it be?

Be curious and be kind — to others and to yourself. This sector can be complex and emotionally demanding, so take the time to learn, ask questions and seek support. Focus on building strong foundations, reflect on your practice, and remember that meaningful change often happens through small, consistent steps.
